Welcome to my website. My name is Krystal Gallegos and I am a pet portrait artist in Spokane Washington. I have been drawing since I was a kid, and in 2014 I discovered digital art. Around that time I got my first tablet which was a cheap wacom that I hooked up to my laptop. I eventually invested in an iPad pro and started using procreate which are my current tools of choice. After sitting down one day and drawing my cattle dog Snips, I realized that pet portraits could be something I would actually enjoy pursuing. I’ve always loved animals, and drawing my dog brought so much joy to me.
My first pet portrait commission was of a chocolate lab and it solidified my desire to draw peoples pets. I spent about a year putting together a portfolio in my free time, and trying to improve specifically on drawing dogs and cats. Throughout that time I also did some occasional commissions, but still didn’t think it would ever be something I could do full time. At the beginning of 2022 it suddenly became a possibility for me to quit my job. As of July, I’m officially pursuing a career as a full time artist and I’m so excited about it. I can’t wait to bring some joy to others with my art by drawing their furry family members.
